Resiliency Of A Righteous Person

In this present world, we can see different kinds of people who have experienced significant “rise and fall” in their position, finances, popularity and other areas of life. Everyone of us have our own story how we prosper and how we fall as we journey in this course of life. Many people have not recovered anymore from their downfall, but some have recovered well from their humiliating fall thru divine help.
Believers must not lose heart in times of failure because the Word of God gives us the hope of resiliency. In Proverbs 24:16, it is written, For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. (KJV) Keep on trusting God’s Word and you will experience great recovery from multiple fall.
(I) Resilience That Comes From God Proverbs 24:16
A natural man is prone to failure because of his limited knowledge, understanding and wisdom. However, a righteous person may fall many times, but the Lord has the capability to lift him up according to His blessed plan. In Proverbs 24:16, it is written, For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. (KJV)
Outside God’s grace, we cannot recover from major failures; but by His sufficient grace, we can become strong and possess the power to recover from broken pieces of life. Be strong in the Lord and live a victorious life in this messy world.
-Believers with high ethical conduct Proverbs 24:17-20
Ethical conduct is very important virtue to be displayed in all areas of life. It’s a sign of professionalism in handling one’s failure or success. The Bible says in Proverbs 24:17-20, Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: 18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. 19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked; 20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out. (KJV) Fear of God, humility, integrity and self-possession during critical moments are excellent manifestation of high ethical conduct.
God-fearing people Proverbs 24:21
Fear of God produces wisdom in the lives of godly people. Proverbs 24:21 says, My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: (KJV) God-fearing people are delightful to God and are well-favored in His sight. They may fall many times, but resilient through God’s sustaining grace.
Precautious people Proverbs 24:21, 22
A man filled with wisdom is watchful and cautious in his ways. He does not associate himself with questionable people making his life far from destruction. In Proverbs 24:21-22, it is written, My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: 22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both? (KJV)
Righteous people are reliant on the Lord and they can perceive the crafty ways of the adversary. In times of adversity, we must keep in mind that the Lord Jesus cares for us and He is our ultimate refuge. The Bible says in I Peter 5:7-8, Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (KJV) Sometimes we fall and get ensnared in the devil’s trap, but we thank God for His sustaining grace that enable us to recover well and become victorious.
Spiritual insights to live by:
We are not perfect people living in this earthly life. Our own ways are subject to errors, and we are prone to many failures. Realizing our frailty and fragility, we really need to come to God for help and guidance in everything we do so we may not be led to a tragic downfall.
One important thing every man should learn in life is that God’s way is perfect and He has the power to make our way perfect. The Bible says in Psalm 18:30-32, As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. 31 For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? 32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. (KJV) Whatever situation of life we are facing today, God has always a way to strengthen us and lift us up from our lowest and darkest pit of life.
