Love That Is Willing To Sacrifice

True love goes beyond man’s spoken words. In I John 3:18, it is written, My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. (KJV) It brings forth brilliant acts that could animate and brighten one’s weary soul, especially in times of uncertainties. Genuine love is generous without hypocrisy.
God is love and a deep understanding of this truth will create life-changing and hope-giving effects in our lives. As a great result, the love of Christ will lift us up and His wonderful Name will be glorified in a very significant way.
(I) The Love Of Christ Romans 5:1-8
The love of Christ is a kind of love that is willing to sacrifice for the benefit of fallen human race. In Romans 5:8, it is written, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (KJV) The love of Christ is beyond the boundaries of human love.
Christians must grow in love unto Christ-likeness. The Bible says in I John 3:16, Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. (KJV) True love has a sacrificial attitude toward its object.
-Inseparable love Romans 8:38, 39
Christ-like love does not fade, but is deeply rooted in truth and continue to keep on grow as the years go by. The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:38-39, For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV) The love of Christ is inseparable and beyond man’s comprehension. Knowing such truth will stir up our heart to cling to him more faithfully, and we will end up saying, “Isn’t the Love of Jesus something wonderful?”.
Christ-like love could be exhibited by believers John 13:34, 35
Christ-like love should be demonstrated consistently in our day to day life. The Bible says in John 13:34-35, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (KJV) Genuine love is an excellent mark of a true disciple of Christ.
It is so easy to say, “I love God”, but a man who can’t even show love to his siblings who are so near to him is an extreme hypocrisy. The Bible says in I John 4:20-21, If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. (KJV)
Spiritual insights to live by:
“Love” is a beautiful word being expressed through well-spoken word, but when it comes to its application, its ultimate manifestation should be seen and felt by love-seeking people. It is then important to express our love through action more than uttered words. Genuine love is consistent and being exhibited within the framework of truth.
Christ’s earthly life is the best example of love. The Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 2:20, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (KJV) Behind Christ’s sacrificial death was His great and incomparable love. What a blessing to experience God’s love! Truly, He first loved us before we love Him.
The Bible says in I John 4:16-19, And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us. (KJV)
May the Lord find our love sincere as we spread the Gospel to the lost and dying world.
