Knowing More About Our Lord Jesus

The Bible says in John 1:10, He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (KJV) Spiritual blindness is the great cause why people are not interested to welcome Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Sad to say that the world knew Him not as the Creator of the whole universe.
Jesus created everything, some are visible and some invisible. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all living things and non-living things. In Colossians 1:16-17, it is written, For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (KJV) These verses show the sovereignty of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Having a desire to know Jesus is better than seeking fame, popularity, power, and riches. Zacchaeus was a rich man and yet he desired to know Jesus. As a great result, he got saved through faith in Him and his life was changed and enjoyed the joy of salvation. In Luke 19:2-3, And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. (KJV) Know more about Jesus and enjoy a blessed life.
(I) His Hope-giving Word John 14:1-4
The Lord Jesus is the “Hope-Giver” of the hopeless people. We are living in this troubled world and the ultimate hope of the fallen human race is no other than Jesus our Lord. Rely on Him and stand the test of time.
In times of trouble, come to Jesus and He will give you peace. The Lord said in John 14:1-4, Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. (KJV)
-He is the way to heaven John 14:5-6
Every man in his sound mind surely desires to go to heaven; however the problem of fallen human race is spiritual ignorance on how to go to heaven. It is needful for man to know the true and reliable way to eternal bliss. Thomas did the right thing when he asked the Lord about the way to heaven. In John 14:5-6, it is written, Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)
Jesus is the only way to heaven and those who want to go there must repent from their sins, and by faith, receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Heaven is a prepared place for genuine believers. The Bible says in I Peter 1:4-5, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (KJV)
His deity John 14:7-9
Jesus is God and those who truly believe on Him will have the gift of eternal life. Knowing more about Jesus is knowing more about our Heavenly Father. The Bible says in John 14:7-12, If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (See John 10:30)
The Lord said in John 14:10-12, Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (KJV) He that believes what Jesus said will become spiritually fruitful in his life. He will accomplish great works for God’s honor and glory.
His powerful Name John 14:13-14
In the Name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven and on earth. What a powerful Name every man should know. In Philippians 2:10-11, it is written, That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV) Every believer must acknowledge the blessedness of Jesus. His due preeminence must be displayed in everything we do for His honor and glory.
Jesus’ Name is so powerful that uttering it will produce miraculous result. In John 14:13-14, And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. (KJV)
Spiritual insights to live by:
It’s truly a great blessing to know more about the Lord Jesus. It will widen our scope of knowledge and understanding about the truth. Consequently, our lives will be filled with hope, joy and peace. Fear of God, servant’s heart and Christ-likeness will be displayed in our earthly course of life.
The Bible says in John 1:14, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (KJV) Truly, Jesus our Lord is full of grace and truth, and by His grace, we are what we are today. The Apostle Paul wrote in I Corinthians 15:10, But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. (KJV)
It is good to realize that Jesus came to bless us. The Bible says in Acts 3:26, Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. (KJV)
