Jesus Christ Is The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever

Having a desire to know more about the Lord Jesus is a godly desire that will lead a man to a higher level of spiritual consciousness. Zacchaeus made a way to know more about the Lord and was led to his notable salvation, and his life was turned upside down. In Luke 19:2-3, it is written, And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. (KJV) Knowing more about Jesus is life-changing.
(I) His Unchanging Example Should Be Seen In Us
Hebrews 13:8
A natural man is easily influenced by the fleshly fashion of the world and has a “tossed-to-and-fro” life because he is easily swayed by deceitful and earthly principles.
The world and its inhabitants are ever-changing, but Jesus Christ is constant yesterday, today, and forever. In Hebrews 13:8, it is written, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (KJV) What a Savior we have in Jesus. As we follow Christ’s well-exemplified life, the world will surely see Him in us.
-Consistent brotherly love Hebrews 13:1
Believers’ consistent spiritual life is delightful to God. Brotherly love must be demonstrated continually through believers’ day to day life. The Bible says in Hebrews 13:1, Let brotherly love continue. (KJV)
Mindfulness of others Hebrews 13:2, 3
Be mindful of others and be always ready to extend your caring hands to the needy. Be hospitable to strangers especially to God’s servants with special mission. In Hebrews 13:2-3, it is written, Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. 3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. (KJV)
-Undefiled married life Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is an intimate union of husband and wife in accordance to the precepts of truth. It’s a pure and sacred union that is delightful in the sight of God and men. Hebrews 13:4 says, Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. (KJV) Marriage must not be contaminated by illicit sex and infidelity. Married couples must not be influenced by fleshly way of immoral people.
Mindfulness of Christ-centered marriage
Hebrews 13:8
Christ-centered marriage depicts Christ’s love for the Church. Being mindful of this depiction will usher married couples to God-glorifying homes. In Ephesians 5:25, it is written, Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (KJV) The love of Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore, and for such reason, Christ-like love must be demonstrated also in the lives of married couples without end.
-Persistent reliance on the Lord Hebrews 13:6
Adversities are unavoidable because they are parts of our earthly life, but we thank God because He is our caring Savior who helps us even in our darkest night. The Bible says in Hebrews 13:6, So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (KJV) Be reliant on the Lord and your fears and insecurities will vanish away.
Mindfulness of God’s faithfulness Hebrews 13:5
Be mindful of God’s faithfulness and enjoy His sustaining grace. In Hebrews 13:5, it is written, Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV) It should be our prayer that God will guard our hearts from covetousness, pride, selfishness, foolishness and vanities. In times of need, keep in mind that the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you.
-Constant respect to spiritual leaders Hebrews 13:7
Believers’ high respect to their spiritual leaders plays a vital role in their spiritual growth. The Bible says in Hebrews 13:7, Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. (KJV) Being mindful of God’s servants is an excellent sign of a life governed by the grace of God.
Mindfulness of God’s Word Hebrews 13:7
A man who is mindful of God’s Word is undoubtedly a lover of Truth. We praise God for faithful servants who preach and teach the Word of God for the spiritual nourishment of believers. The Bible says,…who have spoken unto you the word of God… Be appreciative of God’s Word which is more precious than silver and gold. Keep on reading, hearing and applying its precepts and be led to good success. (See Joshua 1:8)
Spiritual insights to live by:
As we see the swerving way of the world, it should be our notable distinction to stay unchanged on our Biblical convictions and practices. We might be persecuted because of our stand for the Truth, but rejoice because better things are prepared for us to enjoy after this earthly life.
The Lord Jesus is unchangeable and all His promises will surely be fulfilled in a wonderful way. Keep on telling others that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Keep on spreading the Gospel to the lost and dying world and be a blessing to countless people for God’s honor and glory.
We may be experiencing strange troubles around us, but keep on rejoicing because these are beneficial for our spiritual advancement; and keep in mind that the best for us is yet to come. The Bible says in I Peter 1:6-7, Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (KJV) The Lord Jesus will surely come again to take us to heaven to be with Him for eternity.
