Fix Your Eyes Unto Jesus Our Lord

The world we live in is filled with many enticing things that draw people to them. Obviously, worldly people are so engrossed with the trending fashion of the world. They are greatly in love with the world and are being drowned by its irresistible offers that appeal to their eyes, flesh and heart.
The Bible says in I John 2:16-17, For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (KJV) Sad to say, but the world can only offer us time-based things, with no eternal value and benefit. It’s always best for us to abide in Christ and His Word so we may not be spotted by the evil stain of the world’s lifestyle.
As we see the worsening physical situation of our planet earth and the fading spirituality of mankind, it’s time for us to fix our eyes unto Jesus our Lord lest we’ll be led by man’s impressive but deceitful mindset concerning real life.
(I) Be Aware Of Your Ultimate Citizenship Philippians 3:17-21
We must be mindful of our true citizenship. Keep in mind that we are just strangers and pilgrims in this present life. In I Peter 2:11, it is written, Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; (KJV) This world is not our home and we are just passing through this earthly existence.
Don’t expect too much from this world, but rather focus and fix your eyes unto the Lord because He really cares for you. The Bible says in Philippians 3:20, For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: (KJV) Don’t be dismayed of what is happening on around us, but continue serving the Lord in sincerity and in truth. (See I Corinthians 15:58)
-Follow godly people Philippians 3:17-19
We must be careful who we follow as we tread the path of life. Be sure to follow godly people whose steps are ordered by the Lord. The Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 11:1, Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. (KJV) Don’t follow questionable people who are seemingly good, but their ways are deceitful and will lead you to destruction.
In Philippians 3:17, it is written, Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (KJV) Follow the steps of the Lord Jesus and His servants and let your godly testimony usher countless truth-seeker to the true and living Savior.
Be mindful of heavenly things Philippians 3:20
Be mindful of heavenly things, guard your heart and avoid earthly things because they will shape your life to carnality. The Bible says in Philippians 3:20, For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: (KJV) Be excited of heavenly things and be watchful of “the things to come”, specially the glorious coming of the Lord.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 3:1-2, If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (KJV) May the Lord find our hearts pure and well-focused on the things above when He comes.
Looking forward for a better body Philippians 3:21
Our earthly body is corruptible, but praise God because in just a twinkling of an eye, our vile body shall be changed into incorruptible body. In Philippians 3:21, it is written, Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (KJV) What a glorious body we shall have when the Lord Jesus Christ comes!
The Bible says in II Corinthians 5:1-3, For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. (KJV) Our life here on earth is so short and full of trouble; but we praise God because whatever happens in this troubled world, we are preserved and sure of a better and brighter future in Christ our Lord. (See I Peter 1:4, 5)
Reminder:
Be prayerful and watchful because of the alarming presence of perverse and ungodly principles of the world. Avoid compromising with the world, be strong in your godly conviction and the Lord will lead you in the path of righteousness.
Avoid people whose outward appearance seems religious, but their lives are full of wickedness. The Bible says in Philippians 3:18-19, (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) (KJV) Do what is right and pleasing before God, fix your eyes upon the Lord Jesus, and He will take care of you.
