Exalt The Lord Jesus

The Lord Jesus is worthy to be exalted because He is the head of the Church, and that in all things, He might have the preeminence. The Bible says in Colossians 1:18, And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. (KJV) As members of Christ’s body, it is our responsibility to proclaim the Lord’s great salvation so rich and free.
The Name of the Lord Jesus is above every name. In Philippians 2:9-10, it is written, Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (KJV) What a powerful Name of Jesus! He is worthy to be lifted up in our midst at all times.
(I) We Must Exalt The Lord Jesus Not Ourselves John 3:30
John the Baptist acknowledged Jesus’ supremacy above all things. In John 3:30, it is written, He must increase, but I must decrease. (KJV) What an inspiring word of truth and the humility that John the Baptist displayed during the peak of his popularity.
Whatever success we achieve in life, we should not lift up ourselves, but rather, the more we should proclaim the wonderful Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Hebrews 1:4, Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (KJV)
The Lord Jesus is the Creator and He created us for His honor and glory. It is only proper for us to magnify and lift up His Name throughout our existence. In Colossians 1:16, it is written, For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (KJV) Exalting the Lord Jesus in our lives and the ministry that He has entrusted to us is God-glorifying.

Many people from different ages thought that Jesus was merely a man and not God; but the Scriptures declare that Jesus came from above and He is above all. In John 3:31, it is written, He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. (KJV) Jesus came from heaven and He is supreme above all.
The dominion of the Lord Jesus is incomparable. In John 3:35, it is written, The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. (KJV) This passage shows us how powerful our Lord Jesus is and His dominion is eternal. Knowing His great power will surely strengthen our faith and help us to be more reliant on Him.
In Matthew 28:18, it is written, And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (KJV) Truly, Jesus is the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. The coverage of His power is limitless. (see Revelation 17:14, Revelation 19:16)
The Lord Jesus is Life John 3:36
Jesus is the life and He has the power to give eternal life to those who believe on Him. In John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV) In Christ, there is hope of eternal life.
John 3:36 says, He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJV) What a hope-giving news to share the whole world so all people will be led to the saving knowledge of Christ.
Spiritual insights to live by:
As we grow in knowledge and faith, it should be our desire and conviction to exalt the Lord Jesus as we tread the path of duty. We don’t need Diotrephes-like people in our churches today. In III John 1:9, it is written, I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. (KJV) Let the wonderful Name of Jesus be lifted up and not ours.
Keep on telling others that “Jesus Saves”. The Bible says in Acts 4:12, Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV) The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven through faith in Him. (See Ephesians 2:8, 9; Romans 10:9, 10)
