Be An Exemplary Supporter Of Missions

Text: Philippians 4: 15    IBCWPM   March 18, 2026

Preacher: Pastor Jose B. Cabajar

The Church of Philippi was a mission-oriented congregation and became exemplary supporters of missions during the Apostle Paul’s time. The Bible says in Philippians 4:15, Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. (KJV) What a caring church during the early time of Christianity.

Sad to say, but many existing churches today are not involved in the fulfilling the Great Commission because of their indifferent attitude toward mission works. It should be our desire and priority to support the Global Missions Program so we may reach more souls to Christ. In Romans 10:15, it is written, And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (KJV)

(I) Be A Consistent Supporter Philippians 4:15

The believers’ consistency in supporting global mission works will surely produce unimaginable fruits. Behind consistency is one’s deep commitment to get involved in the work of the Lord. The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:15, Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. (KJV) Be consistent in supporting missionaries in the harvest field and be a great blessing to others.

We cannot imagine how many souls we can bring to the Lord if we only give our total support to Global Evangelization. Every believer must get involved in the mission program for the furtherance of the Gospel.

-Be a flourishing supporter Philippians 4:10

As we see the worsening situation of this sin-troubled world, we really need revival in our mission giving. Paul said in Philippians 4:10, But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. (KJV) Before it’s too late, we must grab every opportunity to spread the Gospel worldwide. We must not let our Faith Promise giving deteriorate, but it should be revived to significant level through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Let your giving be pleasing to God Philippians 4:18

In everything we do, we must do it in the Name of Jesus for the glory of God. In Colossians 3:17, it is written, And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (KJV) Giving in the Name of Jesus brings forth blessings in many form. It’s a God-glorifying giving that is beneficial to others.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:17, Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. 18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. (KJV) Missionaries are encouraging believers to give to mission works not only for their own benefit, but in reality, for every believer to have an opportunity to abound spiritually and become delightful and pleasing to God.

Reminder:

Be a consistent supporter of missionaries in the vast harvest field and encourage others as well to get involved in mission giving and let them experience the sustaining grace of God. In Philippians 4:19, it is written, But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (KJV) Be an exemplary supporter of mission and have a great part in fulfilling the “Great Commission”.

Keep on telling others that “Jesus Saves”. The Bible says in Romans 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV)
