Awesome And God-glorifying Song Of Victory

The exodus of Israel from Egypt was a historic event full of considerable lessons for us to learn from. Through this departure, we can learn significant things about world history, and most importantly, spiritual lessons we need to keep in mind. We are also reminded about what faith in God can do for us during crucial moments as accounted in Hebrews 11:29, By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. (KJV)
We may be wondering about the reason why God allowed the “ups and downs” of His people to be recorded in the Bible. Here’s what I Corinthians 10:11 says about it, Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. (KJV) What an admonition we must take heed so we may not become victims of spiritual blunders. We count it a blessing to have the preserved Word of God in our time.
A prayerful and careful study of Exodus 15:1-21 will help us to realize God’s loving-kindness toward Israel and to all truth-loving people. Through this Bible account, we can see God’s unlimited power which was displayed as He redeemed His people from the Egyptian bondage. Israel’s victorious crossing of the Red Sea led Moses and the whole Israel to a joyful singing as a deep and strong expression of their thanksgiving to God.
(I) Awe-inspiring Song Of Thanksgiving Exodus 15:1, 20, 21
Spirituality and music are inseparable things in the lives of godly people and that’s exactly what happened when the Israelites miraculously crossed the Red Sea. The Bible says in Exodus 15:1, Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. (KJV) What a victor’s song of God’s people in time of success.
Whatever situation we may be facing in life, it’s only proper to sing and give thanks to our Almighty God. In I Thessalonians 5:18, it is written, In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (KJV) In every success we achieve in life, we must be thankful to God for His greatness.
-Acknowledgement of God’s greatness and faithfulness Exodus 15:7
As we go through our journey of faith, we must not forget what God has done in our midst in the past so we may acknowledge Him in sincerity and in truth. In Exodus 15:7, it is written, And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble. (KJV) In Christ, the victory is ours.
Awareness of God’s great salvation Exodus 15:2
Awareness of God’s great salvation so rich and free will usher us to be stronger to stand and fight for the truth. The Bible says in Exodus 15:2, The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. (KJV) We must continue lifting up the Name of Jesus in everything we say and do for God’s honor and glory.
Awareness of God’s uniqueness Exodus 15:11
Our Almighty God is incomparable and His greatness is unsurpassable. Exodus 15:11 says, Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? (KJV) Our God is so unique.
In Isaiah 40:25-26, it is written, To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. (KJV) What a wonderful God we have! Truly, He is worthy to be praised, thanked for and worshipped in truth. We must keep on singing for His honor and glory.
Awareness of God’s sovereignty Exodus 15:18
God is all-powerful and there is no such thing as impossible with Him. The Bible says in Exodus 15:18, The LORD shall reign for ever and ever. (KJV) God’s dominion is eternal and beyond man’s comprehension. His power is beyond the boundary of man’s limitations.
In Exodus 15:3-6, it is written, The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. 4 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. 5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. 6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy. (KJV)
Spiritual insights to live by:
Pondering the song of Moses and its message will make us realize that God is undeniably so good to His children despite of their shortcomings. His mercy and sustaining grace are beyond expectation. In Lamentations 3:22, it is written, It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (KJV)
As we tread the course of the Year 2026, we must not forget to give God His preeminence in all areas of our life. We firmly believe that He will walk us through the course with His mighty power so we can reach more milestone of success for His honor and glory.
Let’s continue singing and praising God for the wonderful works He has done in our lives. In Exodus 15:20-21, it is written, And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. (KJV)
To God be the glory great things He has done!
